New Year, New Blog

Posted on January 4, 2020January 5, 2020

It occurred to me that I haven’t written anything since August 2018 about how I switched from working on PhoneGap and Apache Cordova to working on a team that is internal facing at Adobe. I also realized that the majority of the content on infil00p.org hasn’t aged well, so I decided to throw it all out and start with a regular blog again that I can just edit instead of some static site generated mess using the latest whiz-bang tech, since it’s easier to write a blog when there’s a very low barrier to entry.

2019 was an interesting year. I spoke at OSCON twice, once about getting burnt out on working on Open Source, and the other on using the C++ API with Tensorflow Lite. I’ve been doing a lot more work related to machine learning, as well as more Windows development, which I never thought that I would ever do, because that would be “selling out”. However, that was definitely 20 year old me who wanted to work at a startup, eat ramen and work way too many hours a day.

So, this blog will literally just be where I write things, and of course none of my views on this blog will reflect the views of my employer. I will not be talking about work on this blog. This blog can and will probably go in thousands of directions, but people seem to like reading what I write on Twitter, so who the hell knows what people will like here.
